Developing HAS
HioWeb has been working with Preservation Houston to create a new site with the goal of providing historical information and categorization of architectural structures and areas throughout Houston. HioWeb has installed a theme chosen by Preservation Houston and has accomplished the following tasks at this stage in development:
- Created a child theme in order to safely customize theme styles and templates according to best practices
- Performed styling customizations of the theme and added some general content (menu, color scheme, footer info, etc.)
- Added and configured custom post type (“Survey”) and added custom taxonomies – Dates, Architects, Styles, Owners, etc.
- Created static pages as defined by Preservation Houston
- Began creating a Google Map that displays building locations and allows for filtering of information displayed
- Customized the admin panel for Preservation Houston users
- Installed and configured security plugins to protect the site from cyber attacks
- Installed and configured backup and restore plugin
- Installed and configured social media sharing plugin
